Forms and Conventions: Annotating Magazine Covers and Contents Pages

As knowing what an effective magazine cover and contents page is essential, I felt as though it was compulsory that I annotated two magazine covers and two magazine contents pages in order to increase my comprehension of how to produce my own magazine that would be unique and efficient.
Below are images of the annotations that I carried out for this process:

    sketch your ideas for the front cover
    14. plan the list part of the contents page
    15. Use the given structure to plan a main feature article for your DPS.
    16. Put snippets of similar articles from real magazines in your blog OR DSbook,
    17. Use the plan from this guide to plan your photoshoot/
    18. Take your photos.
    19. Copy all of your pictures into your DSbook
    20. Use photoshop to manipulate your images including background removal.
    21. Use photoshop (with InDesign is best) to make your pages.
    22. everytime you make a significant change, save under a different name – e.g. ‘FRONT COVER 1’ ‘FRONT COVER 2’ ‘FRONT COVER NEARLY DONE’ ‘FRONT COVER FINAL’ ETC.
    23. As you progress, save jpegs or screen-shots of each draft in your DSbook under the heading DRAFTS
    24. Convert your pages into PDF
    25. Show your pages to 5 people; write down their comments and write a response to each one – put in blog OR DSbook under heading AUDIENCE FEEDBACK.
    26. Use the essay plan to write the SUPPORTING ACCOUNT.
    27. SUBMIT IN TIME FOR GREEN DEADLINE.
    28. MAKE SUGGESTED AMENDMENTS AND SUBMIT IN TIME FOR YELLOW DEADLINE.
    29. MAKE SUGGESTED AMENDMENTS AND SUBMIT IN TIME FOR YELLOW DEADLINE.
    30. MAKE & HAND IN CDS OF YOUR PAGES, blog OR DSbook & SUPPORTING ACCOUNT.
